Adam had the 25th off for Pioneer Day, so we went up to Silver Lake. Adam has never been in the summer, although we snowshoed in last winter.
What I love about Silver Lake is that it is a super easy walk around the lake on boardwalks mostly. People take strollers and it's wheelchair accessible. But it also has little places off of the trail to explore and climb. We had fun, and even ran into some of my favorite neighbors growing up- the Spencers.
We saw lots of people fishing, and one person was walking out with a chain full of fish- so I guess the fishing's good too.
This amazing flower field was right by the parking lot!
the boardwalk
It was overcast so it's funny that it was so bright for little Linc.
But I love how cool the mountains are! A perfect escape from the hot valley.
Linc never walks anywhere... he runs!
Reminds me of the Lorax...
The boys were excited to find a patch of snow!! Linc decided to taste it before we could stop him- yikes!
Elliott and Ollie climbed this rock twice.
We're working on using our hands, feet and bums to safely climb down a mountain instead of begging mom or dad to carry us down...
Ollie always asks for pictures.
Watching the chipmunks.
Stream running through the path in certain spots.
Taking a peach break while Adam takes a work call.
I love that there was a stream right under our feet...
We just walked around Silver Lake- about a mile, but you could also go further to Twin Lakes and Lake Solitude.
Linc loved the little trails leading off the main path. And he was fast!
Look at all that snow!
Directions to Silver Lake:
Drive 14 miles up big cottonwood, end at Brighton ski resort. On your right is a parking lot with signs for the Silver Lake trail head. Look for the sign that says Solitude Nordic Center.

So many great photos...I always like new SPOL entries. Some great macro flower shots, as well as good looking kid/family shots. Thanks for posting.
